About Angela..
My Grandfather was my early mentor and advisor when it came to the wonderful world of dogs. John Wesley Clark "Wes" was known for his ability to train beagles to hunt thus, that is where part of my kennel name, "Wesann's" derived. My family has always called me "Ann" instead of Angela, so I combined the two names. Our kennel name was est. in 1977, and my two daughters and I will continue to use this name for years to come.
In 1977 I was helping Walter Elgin and family with training and showing Bloodhounds, this was my fist introduction to the show world. At one show I was taken by a blue Italian Greyhound, and decided to purchase one from Pixie Kennel in PA. "Pixie Princess" was my first show dog and my foundation bitch.
From 1977 - 1990 I showed the IG's exclusively who were bred by myself or dear friends Pam Hoy, Margaret Neese, and Alicia Burnett-Moore. What great times we had together, but life changes suddenly.
From 1990 - 2005 I took some time off from the show ring.
By 2005 both my girls had a big interest in showing. We started conformation classes and then off we were.
This time around I am finance manager, advice counselor, and Top pooper scooper.
I love it - cannot wait till the next show - and as a matter of fact "The World Does Revolve Around Our Dogs".
About Michelle......
For myself showing has been apart of life before I was even born. My mother Angela began showing the Italian Greyhounds which seems like now a lifetime ago. While she was pregnant with me and even as a small infant she would drag me along to every dog show she attended. I basically never had a choice not to accept dogs, but I would not have it any other way! Once I was old enough to handle a dog myself she through me in the ring with an IG, boy was this entertaining. It was hard being up against all the adults and handlers, but I pulled in many wins. I never was entered into Junior Competition because my mother always said that if I was going to show dogs then to get in the ring and do so, and that is what I done.
When I was only five years old I got my first Whippet "tiger" thanks to my mother's long time friendship with Ragen Meadows, who passed too soon in life. I was hooked for life after this. I handed her IG's back to her and began my career of owning, loving, and showing whippets at that point. Since then I have built my lines around Appraxin, Locar, Sportingfield, and Morshors in collaboration to form my own kennel of WesAnn's Whippets. I owe a special thanks to Calvin G. Perry because without him as a inspiration or his guidance I would not have the wisdom and knowledge of this wonderful breed that I do today.
Today at WesAnn's I pride my self on producing whippets with proper temperaments and conformation. They are most importantly my companions and are like my children . This is the breed I have built my show career around, and I will say most people have told me I did pick one of the hardest breeds to do that with. I would not change a thing!! Pushing through doubt and snide remarks I know can say that I have a breeder/owner/handled BOB winning, group placing champion who was also pulled into the top 10 at the Westminster Dog Show in 2008. Expanding my lines into what I feel like a whippet is truly supposed to resemble. I am looking forward to the future and what it may bring for WesAnn's.
About Kacie...
When I was 8 years old I began showing one of my Mother's Italian Greyhounds. This did not last to long because I saw my very first Toy Fox Terrier and fell in love with the breed.
At 11 years old I got my first Toy Fox Terrier(TFT) from Jeanette and Dennis Wright of Belle Amie Kennels, which became my very first Champion. That same year I finished my second TFT Champion for Belle Amie Kennel. I then went on to finish my third TFT Champion who is currently in the Top 20. She is also my junior dog and together we have won many top placements.
Thanks to Jeanette/Dennis Wright at Belle Amie's I have achieved the above accomplishments. With their guidance and wonderful friendship I hope to finish more of their TFT's.
To date I have several Best Junior Awards, 3 TFT Champions, 1 Long Coat Chihuahua Champion, 2 homebred Champion Lowchens, and an invitation to the Eukanuba Nationals in Long Beach CA. Please check out the news/brags page to see our/my newest accomplishments.
In the future I would like to have one of the number one TFT's, win at the Westminster, become a professional handler, and finally when I am a little older become an AKC Judge.
